(More customer reviews)If you have ever played the earlier version of life please do yourself a favor and avoid this "new" version like the blak plague. My friends and I used to play the old version every single day up to late hours. Once we learned the new version was out we ran and bought it. WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT!!!! Compared to the old version this one is HORRIBLE. It isn't fun. The new rules [are not good]. You can not bet anymore. Money isn't the way it used to be (what's with the litte pieces of carton?) Maybe if someone at MB reads this they will go back to the basics and bring back what was once a great and fun family game to play. Lucky for us we still have, and play with, our old and much better version of Life.

(More customer reviews)I've been playing Trouble since I was a kid and it's still fun to play with my brothers and my niece.You push down on the middle part of thegame with the dice in it and the dice will 'pop' and give you a number,telling you how many spaces to move.The first person to get their fourpieces around the board and to their base, wins.If you land on a spacewhere one of your opponent's pieces are already at, they will have to startall over with that piece.For that reason, some kids might get mad if theyhave to start over, but that's the only thing that I see that anyonewouldn't like about Trouble.
Playing Trouble can teach kids some countingskills and maybe even some sportsmanship after you teach them not to getmad because they're not winning everytime.Trouble is a lot of fun and Irecommend anybody to get it.

(More customer reviews)My brother and I used to play this game for hours on end. Yes, we would send each other back to the beginning of the game while laughing our little heads off in amusement. If you play the game enough, everyone gets a chance to win. So, most times we would play this until each person had a chance to win. A great colorful game with easy to move pawns. Great family fun, but easy enough for kids to take out the game on a rainy day and entertain themselves.

(More customer reviews)Monopoly is often overlooked as a gamenight option these days, many people considering it outdated. But it's a classic for a reason, combining lucky rolls and strategy in a very unique way.
The fact is that most people don't play Monopoly by the correct rules, and that makes all the difference. The key to enjoying the game is the inter-player deals and politics. That's where all the fun lies, and much of the strategy. Any player can strike any kind of a deal with another player - want to trade all the purples and light blues for Boardwalk? No problem. Want to trick someone into trading a property you need for all your railroads? This is where the real enjoyment comes from. I encourage you not only to get the game and play it, but to read the rules and "get into" the game.
There are also some fun alternate rules you can use, such as collecting $400 (instead of $200) when you *land* directly on "go", or putting fine money (from chance cards, utility expenses, get out of jail money, etc.) in the center of the board and collecting it when you land on "free parking".
Don't overlook Monopoly as an outdated option. It's still one of the best games out there.

Jenga Review

(More customer reviews)Both of my 5 year old boys got a Jenga game for Christmas this past year.One got this set and the other got the set that just comes in a box.This is definitely way better because the blocks can be put away nicely in this canister.The box for the other one is flimsy & we've taped it repeatedly already.

As for the game, it's fun & really easy to learn.All of us like it.Every family should have this.None of us are experts yet, but it doesn't matter.The boys like it just as well when the whole tower falls down.

Definitely a good gift for ages 5+.ALL ages would enjoy this.
